    Website Privacy Scanner

Check any website for tracking scripts, cookies, and privacy risks before signing up. Know what you're getting into before giving your email.

    What We Check

    Tracking Scripts

Analytics, social media pixels, and advertising trackers that follow you across the web.

    Cookie Usage

How many cookies the site sets on your first visit, before you agree to anything.

    Connection Security

Whether the site uses HTTPS encryption to protect your data in transit.

    Data Collection

Email and password fields on the page you scanned.

    How the Privacy Scanner works

Most websites load scripts from other companies the moment you arrive: analytics, ad networks, social pixels and session recorders. You never see them. This scanner shows you which ones a site loads, so you can decide whether to give it your real email address.

Paste a web address above. Our server fetches that one page the way a browser first receives it and reads the HTML and the response headers. It checks the connection, lists scripts from other domains, names the trackers it recognises, counts cookies set before you agree to anything, and looks for a consent banner, a privacy policy link and sign-up fields. It doesn't run the page's JavaScript, so anything loaded later won't show. There's no score, just what we found. No account needed, and we don't save the addresses you check.

    What each result means

    • Connection: whether the page loads over HTTPS, whether the site sends an HSTS header telling browsers to always use HTTPS, and whether the plain http:// address sends you to the secure one.
    • Trackers: scripts we recognise from a list of common analytics, advertising and session recording tools, such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and Hotjar. Plausible and Fathom are marked privacy-friendly because they don't use cookies or follow you between sites.
    • Third-party scripts: scripts loaded from a different domain to the site itself. Not all of them are trackers. Some are just a content delivery network or a payment widget, but each one is another company that sees your visit.
    • Cookies before consent: cookies the site's server sets on the first response, before you have clicked anything. Cookies added later by scripts are not counted.
    • Consent banner: whether we spotted a known cookie consent tool, such as OneTrust or Cookiebot. A site with a home-made banner will show as none found.
    • Privacy policy: a link on the page that says privacy policy, or points to a privacy page. UK and EU data protection law expects sites that collect personal data to explain what they do with it.
    • Sign-up forms: email or password fields on the page you scanned.

What to do with the results

If a site loads ad or social trackers on your first visit, it is already sharing that visit with ad companies. Sign up with a temp address so your real email stays out of it. If it looks clean, a temp address still makes sense for one-off sign-ups, because a clean site today can still be breached or sold later. A Temp Mail AI address takes one click.

    Privacy Scanner FAQ

    Is the Privacy Scanner free?

Yes. It's free and needs no sign-up. To stop it being abused, each person can run about 10 scans a minute.

Do you store the URLs I scan?

No. The address you enter is used for that one check and then thrown away. We don't save it or tie it to you. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs like any web host, but our code never writes the address you scan to them or anywhere else.

    How accurate are the results?

It only reports what it actually finds, but it only sees the first load. The scanner reads the page's HTML and headers without running its JavaScript or accepting cookies. Trackers loaded later by a tag manager, or after you click Accept, won't show, so the real number is often higher. Some sites also block automated checks. Treat it as a quick look, not an audit.

Should I still use a temporary email on a site that looks clean?

Often, yes. A clean first load doesn't tell you what happens to your email after you sign up, and it won't protect you if the site is breached later. A temp address limits the damage.

What's the difference between this and a browser tracker blocker?

Tracker blockers like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger run in your browser and stop trackers loading. This scanner is a quick check you can run before you visit a site or sign up. They work well together.

    Disclaimer

This scanner reads the page the way a browser first receives it: the HTML and the headers. It doesn't run the page's JavaScript or click a cookie banner, so it can miss trackers that load later. It's a quick check, not a full audit. For anything important, read the site's privacy policy.
